Nadine Kanso, Bil Arabi
Kanso began as a journalist with a passion for photography that evolved into a fine art practice. Simultaneously she launched her jewelry brand, Bil Arabi, which means “in Arabic”, as an homage to the organic, calligraphic forms of her native language and Arabic culture. Her pieces translate Arabic letters, words, and phrases into contemporary, wearable statements in 18k gold and precious stones.
Nadine Kanso is a staple on the Dubai art and design scene, where her jewelry is in high demand among the fashion set who covet her interpretation of contemporary culture.
Kanso’s work has appeared in various exhibitions and shows including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London as a part of the “Arabize Me” exhibit, a solo show at B21 Gallery in Dubai entitled “Meen Ana” (“Who Am I?”), and Design Miami. She is currently represented by Cuadro Gallery.
